Turning Over a New Leaf: Fall Skincare Tips for a Stunning Glow

  1. Hydration is Key:

The fall season means the air becomes colder and drier. Rapidly decreasing humidity in the environment makes our skin more susceptible to dehydration, which may cause dryness, flakiness, and irritation. Your skin is more prone to become sensitive during this season. And that is why you need to take extra care to maintain your skin and its moisture balance. To hydrate your skin adequately, drink plenty of water throughout the day (at least 8 glasses). Along with water, add fresh fruit juices and water-rich fruits and vegetables to your diet to further replenish the lost fluid in your body. Fruits like cucumber and oranges and vegetables like celery and lettuce are excellent sources of hydration with their high water content. With enough water and a balanced diet, your skin will stay soft, supple, and healthy throughout the season.

  1. Switch to a Gentle Cleanser:

The environmental change during the transitioning season can have a significant impact on your skin. The drier air can lead to a decrease in the natural oil production of your skin. And thus your skin can become very dry and irritable. To combat these effects and maintain a healthy complexion, it's essential to choose a cleanser that is gentle and hydrating. Most of the gel or foaming cleansers available in the market contain chemicals that can be pretty harsh for your season, especially in the fall. So, you need to take extra caution in choosing your cleanser. Try to go for cream or milk cleansers and choose ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or ceramides which help to lock moisture in your skin.

Our Recommendation:

Go Green Naturals Matcha Tea Facial Cleanser

This non-foaming, deep-cleaning, non-drying cleanser contains organic green tea, which is well-known for its excellent antioxidant properties. Lactose has a further refining and brightening effect, leaving skin feeling refreshed, soft, and supple. It is formulated with organic aloe, emollient-rich grape seed oil, and moisture-locking organic honey, plus calming organic lavender, chamomile, and soothing rose distillate.

  • Honey and Oats Facial Cleanser: Several studies have shown that honey can improve skin's appearance. This facial cleanser is loaded with natural ingredients that work together to give you a deep clean while also leaving your skin feeling soft, smooth, and radiant, such as organic honey, oat straw, aloe vera, lavender, pro-vitamin B5, and more. A small amount of this product produces an impressive amount of lather. This cleanser is ideal for people with sensitive skin because it is so mild and gentle.

  1. Continue Exfoliating the Skin:

Exfoliation is an important part of your skincare routine so that you can get rid of dead skin cells, uneven skin tone, pigmentation, fine lines, and clogged pores. During the Fall season, your skin is more prone to flakiness and irritation. Thus you may need to reduce the frequency of exfoliation and do it not more than once or twice a week. Also, you may consider opting for chemical exfoliants like alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta hydroxy acids (BHAs). They tend to be more gentle on the skin in comparison to physical exfoliants, making them a better choice when the air is drier and your skin may be more sensitive.

Our Recommendation:

Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Mask

  • There are more than one hundred different nutrients in pumpkin, making it a skin-friendly superfood. Skin is left feeling nourished, renewed, and gently refreshed. This peel mask is rich in antioxidants and enzymes, has a delicious aroma, and does wonders for dry, dull skin. Rinsing off Pumpkin Enzyme, a natural enzyme, and alpha hydroxy acid exfoliates dead skin cells while restoring the skin's youthful glow.

  • Dead Sea Magic Mud Mask: The Dead Sea Magic Mud Mask is the most mineral-dense mud. This mask is great for soothing and replenishing chronically irritated and dry skin while also correcting uneven skin texture on arms, legs, posterior, and torso. Conditions as varied as psoriasis, eczema, arthritis, muscle pains, and stress can all benefit from the use of this mask.

  1. Don’t Underestimate the Toner:

A lot of people tend to underestimate the importance of toner. But a good hydrating toner can be very effective for your skin, especially in the drier season of Fall. Opt for a toner with ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, or aloe vera. These ingredients help to replenish moisture that may be lost during cleansing and exfoliation, ensuring your skin remains hydrated. It will also help maintain the pH balance of your skin and create a barrier against pollutants and other impurities.

Our Recommendation:

Lavender Chamomile Facial Toner

  • This gentle toner is ideal for fall’s sensitive skin, but it benefits all skin types in every season. Natural comforters like Lavender and Chamomile are combined with MSM for support, Tea Tree for cleansing, and Organic White Willow Bark for purification, all in a base of soothing Organic Aloe.

  • Sea Minerals Hydrating Toner: It's a wave of skin-loving ingredients like hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and clarifying White Willow Bark, as well as purifying Fine Sea Salt and antioxidant-rich Organic Kelp and Organic Blue Green Algae. It is a powerful face and body toner that brings the splendor of the sea directly to you!

  1. Choose a Heavy Moisturizer:

Fall is the season to ditch the light moisturizer you were using throughout the summer in favor of a heavier one. As it is a season when the humidity level in the air drops significantly, you need additional aid to replenish your skin’s moisture balance, prevent cracking, and soothe irritation. Choosing the right moisturizer for the fall season depends on your skin type. It is better to opt for a rich, emollient moisturizer that provides deep hydration. Consider products with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, shea butter, or ceramides to lock in moisture. Cream or balm-textured moisturizers work well for the skin during the dry weather of Fall.

Our Recommendation:

Drench Balm Hydrating Gel

  • This super balm deeply moisturizes the skin while also helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles thanks to its high concentrations of organic aloe, hyaluronic acid, collagen peptides, and vitamin C. Keep in mind. This is fantastic for hydration all over, but especially the face and the hands.

  • Whipped Body Butter: This whipped body butter is a creamy, deep moisturizer, made with organic, unrefined, high-quality, and non-toxic ingredients such as shea butter, cocoa butter, and jojoba oil. Perfect for the dry seasons.

  • Irish Moss Body Butter: It contains Irish Moss which has soothing, protective, and nourishing properties that work wonders on your skin. Apply this rich creamy butter onto the skin daily. Massage slowly, allowing your skin to absorb the nutrients.

  1. Don’t Skip Sunscreen:

Don’t skip sunscreen just because it’s fall. Though the intense summer heat is gone, the sun’s UV rays can still harm your skin. Thus sunscreen is needed all year around. Opt for a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, and apply it daily, even on cloudy days.

Our Recommendation:

Daily SPF 30 Sunscreen Moisturizer

  • Daily SPF Sunscreen Moisturizer prevents the development of leathery and wrinkled skin that has unhealthy pigmentation. This sunscreen is a must-have, daily item and we recommend using it on your face, neck, and hands. Diligent use of sunscreen can also slow, or temporarily prevent, the development of wrinkles, moles, and sagging skin.

  1. Avoid Hot Bath:

Taking a long, hot bubble bath may sound really tempting after a long, busy day, but keep in mind that hot water tends to strip your skin of natural hydration, leading to dryness and itchiness. Thus it’s highly recommended to avoid bathing in hot water as much as possible. And while taking a shower in lukewarm water, use a gentle, moisturizing body soap to clean the body. We recommend El’s Handcrafted Oatmeal & Lavender Natural Soap

Handcrafted Oatmeal & Lavender Natural Soap

This soap contains the goodness of wheat germ oil, shea butter, hemp Oil, argan oil, avocado oil, essential oils, charcoal, cocoa butter, jojoba oil, coconut oil, persimmon tea, pine tar, tea tree, etc.

  1. Invest in a Humidifier:

The heater in your house may keep the place warm and cozy, but it also contributes to decreasing the humidity level in air. It can be an additional cause of dry skin in the fall. So invest in a humidifier to keep it in your room to compensate for the lack of moisture in the atmosphere. And if buying a humidifier doesn’t seem a plausible option, keep a face mist nearby at all times. Spray it all over your face and neck from time to time to give your skin a hydration boost.

Our Recommendation:

After Sun Aloe Spray

After Sun Aloe Spray is an invigorating, coconut-scented mist formulated with an infusion of nutrient-rich botanicals and rosewater essential water to revive dull, tired skin. Aloe Vera and rosewater, both rich in essential vitamins and minerals, deliver a cooling boost of hydration as aloe vera juice provides powerful antioxidant protection. Skin is left feeling refreshed and revitalized.
