This genuine, hand-made kitchenware in the North African style is a crucial part of the Moroccan way of life. Each tagine is crafted by hand from lead-free ceramic. Besides being a work of art in its own right, this handmade Moroccan item serves a practical purpose as well. The unique design of the tagine makes it perfect for presenting gourmet meals.
An expansive, shallow, round dish serves as the base, which can be used in a variety of ways. The steam can circulate, condense, and reach the meal thanks to the cone-shaped cap. A deeper flavor can be progressively incorporated into meats, veggies, and grains. As an added bonus, the tagine can be used in either the oven or the dishwasher. Our crockery is impervious to wear and tear from washing and scrubbing. Handcrafted details cause small alterations to color, size, and design.
Clay, a material unique to Fes, is mined only there, at a location known as Ben.
In Fes, clay is dried for 20 days, broken, cleaned, and soaked for two days. Artisans shape it into vases, jars, and plates by hand, bake at 2000°C for 8 hours, paint with natural colors, coat for shine, and bake again. The products are durable for daily use. Zellige tiles are baked, painted, and designed with intricate patterns by the Nekkach. Assembled with "la resin," these tiles showcase Fes’s craftsmanship inspired by ancient designs.
