Mexican Sarsaparilla is found in Southern Mexico, but it is also distributed throughout South America, particularly in El Salvador, Guatemala and Belize. The plant gets its name from the Spanish word zarzaparrilla, which is constructed from zarza and parrilla and means “shrub” and “little grape vine,” respectively.

Directions: Add at least 2-3 chips in 8-10oz of water. Bring water (with herbs) to a boil over a medium fire, then reduce to low and simmer for another 5-15 minutes. Strain and pour into cups. Drink twice a day as needed. Add honey if desired
