With this intricately designed and enormous wall water fountain, you can recreate the peaceful atmosphere of sitting by the side of a moving river in the comfort of your own home. Wonderful Zellige Tile Fountains from Morocco are often crafted by hand in relatively modest workshops. The Zellij tile art of Morocco is renowned for its exceptionally intricate designs, which are created by cutting hundreds of individual tile pieces by hand and then arranging them in intricate patterns. Every detail is unique and one of a kind, and it takes inspiration from Moroccan culture to create its patterns.
Clay, a material unique to Fes, is mined only there, at a location known as Ben.
In Fes, clay is dried for 20 days, broken, cleaned, and soaked for two days. Artisans shape it into vases, jars, and plates by hand, bake at 2000°C for 8 hours, paint with natural colors, coat for shine, and bake again. The products are durable for daily use. Zellige tiles are baked, painted, and designed with intricate patterns by the Nekkach. Assembled with "la resin," these tiles showcase Fes’s craftsmanship inspired by ancient designs.
