Clay, a material unique to Fes, is mined only there, at a location known as Ben Jellik.
In Fes, clay is dried for 20 days, broken, cleaned, and soaked for two days. Artisans shape it into vases, jars, and plates by hand, bake at 2000°C for 8 hours, paint with natural colors, coat for shine, and bake again. The products are durable for daily use. Zellige tiles are baked, painted, and designed with intricate patterns by the Nekkach. Assembled with "la resin," these tiles showcase Fes’s craftsmanship inspired by ancient designs.
In contrast to the low-cost sinks made of plastic in factories, the sinks that are made in Morocco are built to last. The drain in the sink has a standard-sized opening for it. It is versatile, allowing you to install it either on top of or beneath the counter, depending on your preference. They have been coated to perfection, which ensures that they will not only last for a very long period but they will also maintain their stunning appearance.
